This Edmonton-based gym for LGBTQ people is the first of its kind in Canada

After negative experiences at Edmonton’s gyms as a non-binary person, Kyle Fairall wanted to create a gym that acted as a safe space for queer, trans and non-binary people in Edmonton.

On Sunday, Fairall will receive an award for human rights for creating Queerflex — the first gym dedicated solely to LGBTQ people in Canada.

Queerflex is a non-profit gym in Edmonton, focused on serving the LGBTQ community by offering one-on-one fitness training in a safe and inclusive environment.

Tennessee’s first LGBT historical marker honors Penny Campbell

A historical marker is going was placed today December, 9th in Tennessee, that was the first marker of LGBT history. It will honor Penny Campbell the lead plantiff in decriminzing gay sex, in 1996 in Tennessee. She also went county to county pushing clerks to request same-sex marriage licenses.

Heads urged to support LGBT staff

Following the open announcement, of teacher Graham Colclough’s decision to get married to his partner Jon, and the warm and open assembly that stemmed from it where the head teacher presented gifts to the couple. The NAHT or teachers Union released new statements that pushed greater LGBT+ rights in schools, for both teachers and students. It also pushed teachers to come out and express who they truly are, for maybe the first time, without fear of being fired or discriminated against, as the union is supporting them.

Mark Takano, the first openly LGBT person of color to win a seat in Congress, asked his fellow LGBT people for their support, asking them to both run for government, and support other LGBT people running for government. He also congratulated LGBT people on their recent winnings of elections.

Pa. Lawmaker Asked to Step Down By Governer After Telling a Fellow Lawmaker to Stop Touching Him and Making a Homophobic Statement.

During a meeting democrat Bradford, touched republican Metcalf’s arm in order to get his attention so that he could make a statement. Metcalf then responded that Bradford should stop touching him and “I am heterosexual… I dont like men as you might… you have people on your side that might like it.” Bradford was rightfully shocked by this and earlier today the Governer asked him to stop down.
